Stal Bankers is an Equestrian Centre in Deurne, the Netherlands. At the initial consultation stage the client highlighted two main factors that needed to be taken into consideration when lighting the space for equestrian use:
Frequency - Horses can observe the frequency of fluorescent lighting (50 Hz), which can cause them to become restless, however by using LED luminaires with a higher frequency this issue can be overcome.
Shadowing - In addition, horses can often be scared by shadows but by designing a scheme with high uniformity this problem can be eliminated.
The Solow LED was chosen for the main riding arena. The luminaire is characterized by its silver extruded aluminium
body with fins that aid cooling but do not collect dust, ideal for the atmosphere in the arena.
